Stress

What is stress? It is a state when an individual is overwhelmed by adverse mental, physical and social situations.
What causes stress? Today’s competitive world, ‘the rat race’, unemployment, Craze to get too much too quickly, tension in office etc just some causes.
Stress affects every body – Male and female, rich and the poor, young and old. Even children feel stress. House wives have typical morning stress – when everything – food  for the husband, food for school going children, attention to the old in – laws at home, answering milk man, vegetable vendor etc has to be done.
Stress probably is the root cause of all diseases – physical or mental. When one is under stress, his / her blood pressure goes up. More Adrenalin gets pumped out. Nerves get wrought. Brain gets dizzy.
Medical researchers say that 85% of our diseases are psycho – somatic. Stress causes sleeplessness, anxiety, nervousness, weight gain / loss, arthritis, weakness of immune system, loneliness, hypertension, disturbances in the menstrual cycle etc. We tend to ignore the tell–tale symptoms of stress and the conditions triggered by it.
